Hi, my name is Tauna Andersen and I have lived in Ephraim for over 30 years. I have always enjoyed using my creative talents and in my early 30’s was able to start a lucrative business making art out of pressed flower petals. I made my first pressed flower creation entitled “Summers End.” Shortly after that, the business of “Pressed for Time” was born.

Starting my own business opened up many avenues for me and early into my new adventure “Country Living” featured one of my pressed floral designs “Queen of Hearts” in their lovely magazine. 5 years later I started using petals to make the image of a fairy. I soon had created my first pressed flower fairy picture in a series of 12. I called this new art form “Petal Painting” and loved using my palate of petals to create dragons, frogs, elves, mermaids, angels and other mystical creatures.

One of my pictures, “Messenger of Peace” was selected to be in the Springville Art Museum for Spiritual and Religious Art of Utah. I wrote and illustrated a children’s book “Once in A Blue Moon” using a number of my fantasy pictures and won first place in the Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards. DreamWorks contacted me to design a picture from the movie “Shrek” which they did not end up using but provided me with another wonderful opportunity to expand my artistic abilities.

25 years after designing my first pressed flower wreath, I am still being inspired to create using Mother Nature’s petals and feel so blessed to have found a medium for my artistic energy. Flowers have long been a symbol of love and caring and I am so grateful to have been being able to capture some of those good energies in my pressed flower artwork.
