John McClellan is a Utah native. He grew up in Orem, Spent 8 years in Logan, 5 years in American Fork, 27 years in Mount Pleasant, and is currently relocating to Kanab.

John has always had an artistic side to him and he loves to create things, He started out drawing, tried painting, And then discovered ceramics and hand sculpting, He created the world of Lizgrins that took him on a fantasy ride for 12 years.

He then moved into woodworking and now he is creating art with found items and metal sculpting Junk Bots.

He has enjoyed remodeling homes, creating interesting environments, and making furniture items.

John likes motorcycles, old cars and trucks, playing harmonica, and singing in a classic rock and roll band. He loves to travel and see new places, eat strange food and try new things. He loves a good joke, a good song and a good friend to share them with. His best friend and companion, Sherene, has helped him all along the way and puts up with John’s perpetual weirdness. They have 4 children, all of them girls, except for 3.

John has never taken his art too seriously. It is just fun to create something that has a lot to look at and has a certain amount of whimsy, just to make people smile.

For John, art needs to be fun. If it isn’t fun then it’s just work. Sometimes work can be fun and when that happens, it's art.
